John’s practice is focused on Civil, Corporate, Environmental and Insurance litigation, and he regularly appears in Court throughout New Brunswick. Prior to joining The Burke Law Group, John studied as a DHL Deutsche Post academic scholar at the University of Edinburgh graduating from the Master of Laws program (LL.M) with honours.
John is also a graduate of the University of New Brunswick (B.SC., Biology and J.D., Law) and was a visiting summer student in violin at The Julliard School (New York). During his studies in law at the University of New Brunswick, John was a co-chair of the Environmental Law Society and co-authored and presented an academic paper for the Canadian Bar Association on shale gas exploration in New Brunswick.
John, a Fredericton native, is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Brunswick, lecturing in International Maritime Law. John also serves as a Director of the Conservation Council of New Brunswick, an Advisor for Pro Bono Students Canada and is a regular contributor to MomTalk’s legal advice column.
